Sunset Market

Thursday is Market Day in downtown Oceanside! From 5:00pm-9:00pm, the sun begins to set and the family-friendly Sunset Market comes alive. This outdoor style festival brings together international food vendors, live entertainment and a children’s area – make an evening of it, stay and eat dinner! The market also includes over 100 arts and crafts vendors, making it a wonderful place to purchase the perfect gift or souvenir.


Well behaved pets are invited to attend the market. The Sunset Market takes place every Thursday night from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm at the corner of Coast Hwy and Pier View Way.

Muriel Anderson’s “Wonderlust”

One of the world’s foremost fingerstyle guitarists and harp-guitarists, Muriel Anderson returns to MoMM to present “Wonderlust,” a virtual tour around the world in music and imagery. This year, she brings French percussionist Mino Cinelu. Muriel is the first woman to have won the National Fingerstyle Guitar Championship and has performed/recorded with Chet Atkins, Les Paul, Victor Wooten, the Nashville Chamber Orchestra and more.

Enjoy a Friday night in January while you are in downtown Oceanside with LIVE Music at the Pour House on January 29 starting at 9:00 pm with San Diego local artist Nena Anderson. Anderson’s voice is velvet, a rich contralto, smoothly able to change from a whisper in your ear to a howl…soulful, sexy and intimate. Her phrasing and stage presence are reminiscent of jazz greats: bluesy, reserved, commanding you to watch and listen.

Scholastic Surf Series: High School & Middle School Surfing Competition

Surf teams on the high school and middle school level will be taking on the Oceanside beach break at the Oceanside Pier beach south side on Saturday, January 30th and Sunday, the 31st. Bring your beach chair, beach towel, sunblock and check out some great young surfing talent competing on their surf teams while relaxing in the warm sun and sandy beach setting! Who knows? You may be watching future pros!

Basic Birding Workshop & Bird Count

The North County Model Railroad Society (NCMRS) has just moved to its new home in Oceanside’s Heritage Park. Families are invited to the North County Model Railroad Museum every Saturday from 10am-3pm for the “Trains for Kids” program; welcoming children to run and the operate model trains.

Family Fun Tour

Families are invited to an interactive, kid-friendly guided tour through the museum galleries. Led by trained museum education specialists, this tour is designed to keep children of all ages entertained and educated! From Sousa’s marches to Beatles jams, families will be introduced to instruments and music spanning the last century. The tour concludes with a giant drum circle where everyone becomes a musician!

Behind-the-Scenes Tour of the Mission San Luis Rey

Tango on the Beach

Tango on the Beach is a favorite for visitors and locals alike.  Head over to the Pacific Street Linear Park outdoor pavilion just across the street from the beach at sunset. Enjoy Tango music and an introductory Tango dance lesson. This event is open to all skill levels. We don’t believe in two left feet. Dancing can be learned and learned at all ages.
