Comic-Con is coming!

Comic-Con International: San Diego began in 1970 when a group of comics, movie, and science fiction fans banded together to put on the first comic book convention in southern California. Now, 45 years later, movie lovers, comic fanatics, and sci-fi geeks are continuing to head to Downtown San Diego, cosplay ready for another amazing Comic-Con!

This year, Comic-Con International: San Diego will be held from Wednesday, July 8 (Preview Night) to Sunday, July 12, 2015, and believe us when we say, you’re in for so many treats! Take a look at what to look forward to this year…

Wednesday (Preview Night)

6:00 pm: Special Sneak Peek Warner Bros. Pilot Screenings

Watch the pilots for Supergirl, Blindspot, Containment, Lucifer, and Teen Titans Go!

Thursday

10:00 am: Up, Up and Away: 75th Anniversary of the 1940 Premiere of the Superman Radio Series

A celebration of Superman in one of his purest forms.

10:45 am: The Autobiography of James T. Kirk

William Shatner will read a book about Captain James T. Kirk.

12:00 pm: The Hunger Games: Mockingjay — Part 2Comic-Con

Thursday’s biggest stories should come from Lionsgate. The highlight of its event will be new footage from the final Hunger Games film, but the studio has some other new titles to show as well. That includes Vin Diesel’s wild new fantasy film, The Last Witch Hunter, which will also show some new footage. Divergent: Allegiant — Part 1 and Alex Proyas’ Gods of Egypt may also make an appearance.

1:00 pm: Call of Duty: Black Ops III Zombies

Activision is presenting the “world reveal” of what it’s like to battle zombies in Black Ops III.

2:00 pm: Class of 1985: The Greatest Geek Movies of: Don’t Forget About Us

A 30th anniversary celebrating an amazing geek-filled year in film.

2:15 pm: Doctor Who: BBC America’s Official Panel

The Doctor is in for this highly-anticipated panel.

4:30 pm: Comic-Con How-To: Art Theft Law: Prevention, Protection Prosecution

A fascinating subject, led by some law professors.

6:00 pm: NASA: Journey to Mars

NASA employees and more talk about Mars and its connection to the new film, The Martian.

10:00 am: Nickelodeon and Dark Horse Comics: Avatar: The Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra

The creators of Avatar: The Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra talk about the comics and more.

11:00 am: Cartoon Network: Adventure Time and Steven Universe

News on Finn and Jake, plus the casts and more.

11:00 am: Star Wars Publishing Update

Authors of upcoming Star Wars novels will discuss their publishing process.

12:00 and 1:00 pm: The Walking Dead and Fear the Walking Dead

One of TV’s biggest show debuts scenes from next season as well as its first spin-off, Fear the Walking Dead.

1:45 pm: Minority Report

More than 13 years after the release of the 2002 sci-fi film, Fox is continuing Philip K. Dick’s futuristic crime-fighting story as a television series.

2:00 pm: Scott C and The Great Showdowns: Super Happy Hollywood

One of our favorite artists talks about his new book and has giveaways for attendees.

2:30 pm: Game of ThronesGame of Thrones

With Season 5 completed, HBO is bringing the cast of Game of Thrones to Comic-Con to discuss what happened and what’s to come. Maisie Williams, Gwendoline Christy, and Natalie Dormer are expected to attend.

3:00 pm: Marvel Television Presents

The latest on Agent Carter and Agents of SHIELD revealed.

4:00 pm: Bill Plympton

Legendary animator, Bill Plympton, talks about his latest film and everyone who attends gets a free drawing!

4:00 pm: Entertainment Weekly: Brave New Warriors

A crazy line-up of new heroes discuss their roles: Zachary Levi (Heroes Reborn), Sam Heughan (Outlander), Jordan Gavaris (Orphan Black), Kevin Durand (The Strain), Rob Kazinsky (The Frankenstein Code) and Michael Cudlitz (The Walking Dead).

5:30 pm: Star Wars: The Force Awakens

The biggest panel of the day — and possibly of the show — takes place Friday night. Director J.J. Abrams, writer Lawrence Kasdan, and producer Kathleen Kennedy will show up to discuss the new film as its December release date draws ever nearer.

5:45 pm: Orphan Black

The hit TV show comes to Comic-Con, Tatiana Maslany expected to attend.

6:00 pm: The Visit

M. Night Shyamalan talks about his return to the horror genre with his new film, The Visit.

Saturday

10:30 am: Warner Bros.

Warner Bros.’ show on Saturday morning is going to be about DC’s superheroes in a big way, quite possibly including a good look at Batman v. Superman. Director Zack Snyder will be on the panel, as well as Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Jesse Eisenberg, and Gal Gadot.

11:00 am: TV Guide Magazine: Fan Favorites

Your favorite TV actors all together on one panel: David Anders (iZombie), Yvette Nicole Brown (The Odd Couple), Wendi McLendon-Covey (The Goldbergs), Norman Reedus (The Walking Dead), Eliza Taylor (The 100), Ming-Na Wen(Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.), and Maisie Williams (Game of Thrones)

12:00 pm: The Simpsons

The creators of the popular show will have lots and lots to discuss at their latest panel.

1:30 pm: Quentin Tarantino’s The Hateful EightQuentin Tarantino

Tarantino himself brings his latest film, The Hateful Eight, to the big stage at Comic-Con.

3:45 pm: Entertainment Weekly: Women Who Kick Ass

These women will discuss their characters and roles in this exciting panel: Gal Gadot (Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice), Gwendoline Christie (Game of Thrones), Hayley Atwell (Agent Carter), Jenna Coleman (Doctor Who), Kathy Bates (American Horror Story).

4:45 pm: Dark Horse: An Afternoon with Joss Whedon

Geek god Joss Whedon talks about his work in the big room for the first time, and just might reveal what he’s up to next.

5:45 pm: 20th Century Fox

Taking Marvel’s usual slot, Fox will highlight the following movies: Fantastic Four, Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials, Victor Frankenstein and X-Men: Days of Future Past – The Rogue Cut. They promise some surprises too (such as, possibly, Ryan Reynolds has been saying he’ll be there for Deadpool and director Bryan Singer is filming X-Men: Apocalypse).

7:00 pm: Fight Club 2

Author Chuck Palahniuk discusses his new comic series.

8:00 pm: X-Men: Days of Future Past – The Rogue Cut

The theatrical screening of the alternate cut of this hit film.

12:30 pm: American Horror Story and Scream QueensAmerican Horror Story at Comic-Con

Two of TV’s creepiest shows share a panel in the big room…and all the stars will be there!

1:45 pm: Heroes Reborn

There is a possibility for a new take on Heroes, with Heroes Reborn. A new trailer will be presented at the show.

2:15 pm: Starship Smackdown XV: Battle of the Intergalactic Stars Edition

This is always an amazing event where intellectuals debate battles between fictional starships. Geekdom at its finest…we love it!

Getting to Comic-Con from Oceanside

You may be tempted to drive yourself to the San Diego Convention Center so that you will have access to your own vehicle, but there are more convenient ways to get you there from Oceanside CA.

The COASTER commuter train runs north-south through San Diego County, serving 8 stations between Oceanside and downtown San Diego. Taking the COASTER can be the easiest and most convenient way for you to get to and from the Con, so click here and get your COASTER schedule ready to go!

Shuttle

If you’re a little closer to Downtown San Diego, consider taking a shuttle to (and from) the event.

“Comic-Con International’s FREE Shuttle service once again offers 24-hour service stopping at 60 locations in downtown, Mission Valley, and hotels near the airport on Shelter Island and Harbor Island. The shuttle service, sponsored by NBC and coordinated by Seat Planners Incorporated, kicks in Wednesday, July 8 from 3:00 PM until 12:00 AM for Comic-Con’s Preview Night. On Thursday, July 9, 24-hour service begins starting at 4:30 AM and runs continuously until Sunday, July 12 at 7:00 PM, with the frequency changing throughout the day.” Click here for the shuttle schedule.
